MONTREAL, Feb. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Two of Montreal's prestigious private
colleges, Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf and Marianopolis College, are joining
forces to offer Quebec's first inter-college bilingual exchange
"This innovative program will promote bilingualism among anglophones,
allophones and francophones because the exchange will be based on
reciprocity: in their last semester of studies, an equal number of
students from each school will be able to take advantage of this chance
to perfect their knowledge of French or English, as the case may be,"
said Brébeuf Director General Michel April.
Marianopolis Director General Len Even said, "Marianopolis and Brébeuf
share similar missions and student populations, as well as a long
history of preparing the most motivated students for university.
Throughout the decades, both colleges have boasted an unparalleled
commitment to excellence; now we are embarking on a promising and
strategic exchange program with a global perspective."
This new choice meets the curriculum requirements of MELS (the Ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport). It will take participating students beyond language and beyond the
classroom to total immersion in culture, clubs, sports and life in
general at the host college.
