National Program Announces Call for Entries - Results Will Reveal Top Picks and Key Insights into the Minds of 36,000+ Canadian Shoppers

TORONTO, June 7, 2011 /CNW/ - Today, BrandSpark International announced that they are accepting entries for the 2012 Best New Product Awards (BNPAs). Now in its ninth year, the BNPAs have grown to become a prestigious and highly sought after award in the consumer packaged goods sector. The results are tabulated from an independent survey of more than 36,000 Canadian shoppers, making it the largest and most credible consumer awards program in Canada. Winners will be announced in early 2012, with awards being given in the food and beverage, health and beauty, and household categories.

The program was founded nine years ago in Canada by Robert Levy, CEO of BrandSpark International and is celebrating its fourth year in the U.S. and recently announced its entry into Mexico. The Best New Product Awards and the companion BrandSpark Canadian Shopper Study provide manufacturers, marketers and consumers with a barometer of what products, trends and innovations are most important to Canadian shoppers today. "Winning products are evaluated on their appeal and repurchase intent by real consumers," adds Levy.

North America's most credible consumer packaged goods awards program

The BNPA logo continues to become a recognized symbol of excellence and a credible consumer endorsement; and marketers are leveraging this fact. With the addition of Mexico, BrandSpark's North American Shopper Survey will boast continent-wide data about the everyday shopping habits of more than 100,000 North American consumers. "Our sample size will be enormous," adds Levy, "we survey over 36,000 Canadians, 63,000 Americans and this year we are adding thousands of Mexican shoppers to deliver marketers a 360 degree snap shot and comparison of North American consumer shopping habits."

The Best New Product Awards is the only consumer awards program that ensures representation from the country's top consumer packaged goods brands and products and is 100% consumer voted, making it truly a vote of Canada's best as chosen directly by shoppers themselves.

In 2011, the Best New Product Awards represented more than 169 products from over 45 manufacturers including: Procter & Gamble, General Mills, Unilever, Coca Cola, Kraft, SC Johnson, Parmalat, Pepsico, Maple Leaf, Nestle, Church & Dwight, and many more.

2012 BNPA entry details

Any product launched between January 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 is eligible for the 2012 Best New Product Awards; early registration with special discounts ends June 30, 2011 and final registration closes August 31, 2011.
