Bow Valley Receives Shareholder and Court Approval for Dana Petroleum's Acquisition of Bow Valley

    CALGARY, April 9 /CNW/ - Bow Valley Energy Ltd. ("Bow Valley") (TSX -
BVX) announced today that the Bow Valley shareholders and the Court of Queen's
Bench of Alberta have each approved the arrangement under the Business
Corporations Act (Alberta) pursuant to which Dana Petroleum (E&P) Limited, a
subsidiary of Dana Petroleum plc, will acquire all of the outstanding common
shares of Bow Valley. Provided all of the other conditions to the completion
of the arrangement are satisfied or waived, closing of the arrangement is
expected to take place at or before the end of April, 2009.

    Bow Valley is an oil and natural gas exploration, development and
production company with operations in the U.K. sector of the North Sea and in
Alaska. The common shares of Bow Valley trade on the TSX under the symbol BVX.
