BOMA Quebec 2007 Go Green & Go Green Plus Accreditations - Real Estate Industry Pursues Green Policy



    MONTREAL, Nov. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - BOMA Quebec today awarded 55 new
Go Green and Go Green Plus accreditation certificates to buildings that met
the criteria of the program. Official accreditation was made by Nadim Hanna,
chairman of the board of directors of BOMA Quebec, and Steve Poulin, chairman
of the BOMA environment committee.
    "I would like first of all to congratulate all the firms that obtained
Go Green and Go Green Plus accreditation," stated Mr. Hanna. "Through their
enthusiastic participation in these eco-friendly programs, they have
demonstrated a commitment to the community and have helped improve the quality
of life for building occupants and visitors. "
    Since its inception in 2005, the program has certified 183 buildings
representing some 59 million square feet of rental space, i.e. 155 Go Green
accreditations and 28 Go Green Plus accreditations.

    Incredible Environmental Impacts!

    Thanks to the commitment and efforts of their owners, buildings certified
Go Green and Go Green Plus make a significant contribution to protecting the
environment:

    
    -   A savings of more than 142 million kilowatt hours per year
        (equivalent to 5700 homes heated by electricity);
    -   A 12,200 tonne reduction per year in CO2 emissions (equivalent to
        removing 2500 cars from our roads);
    -   A savings of more than 1 billion litres of water per year.

    -   Promoting the eco-friendly aspects of a building in terms of
        marketing and relations with tenants;
    -   Greater ecological awareness in building design and operations;
    -   Emphasis on the need to integrate environmental objectives into the
        strategic planning of real estate assets.
