TORONTO, March 8 /CNW/ -- As one of Canada's most exciting independent
labels, Bodog Music will be bringing its unique brand of entertainment to the
Canadian Music Week Festival and Conference for the first time. Along with
its significant presence in the many panels happening at the conference, the
label will also be hosting a press conference as well as "The F(*)CKIN' Rock
Show", Bodog Music's Showcase featuring Neurosonic, The New Cities and The
Ending on March 9 at Healey's Roadhouse.
Bodog Music would also like to invite all media to be a part of a very
exciting announcement, the launch of the Bodog Battle of the Bands Canada.
Prior to the label showcase on March 9, Healey's Roadhouse will host the Bodog
Music Press Conference at 6 p.m. sharp. There, key members of the Bodog Music
team along with famed rock icons Johnny Rotten (The Sex Pistols and PIL) Bif
Naked and Billy Duffy (The Cult) will be on hand to field questions about the
launch of Canada's first multiplatform A search. The three are the reigning
judges of the current US Bodog Music $1-Million Battle of the Bands. Being on
the road with the finalists has given them a wealth of knowledge about the
competition and what is to be expected as it hits Canada. Already a huge
success in the U.S., Bodog Music is thrilled to bring this exciting initiative
home to Canada.
Bodog Music representatives will be sharing their musical insight at
different panels during the conference. Riley Karroll, Senior Director at
Bodog Music International, will take part in Ready or Not: Artist Development
in the Insta-Market on March 10 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in room Tudor 7/8. The
Bodog Music-sponsored panel will discuss artist development in a lightning-
fast music industry filled with pre-fab artists. Karroll will be joined by
Dougie Souness (No Half Measures Management), Lara Lavi (WIDEawake
Entertainment Group), Sat Bisla (A Worldwide), Jonathan Ramos (SONY BMG
Canada), Jozef Nuyens (Passalong Networks), and Chris Taylor (Taylor
On March 9, U.S. Label Manager Jonny Z will be at Reelin' In The Ears:
The A Panel. Jonny will join veteran ears Allan Reid (Universal Music Canada),
Tyler Bacon (Position Soundtrack Services), Alison Wenham (USA Songwriting
Competition), Scott Robinson (Dualtone Music Group Inc.), Gourmet Delice
(Bonsound), and Leonard Kalikow (New On The Charts), as the group discusses
what A people are really searching for. The one-hour panel starts at 11:15
p.m. in the Salon A Room.
And finally, the Spotlight On Germany: An Overview of the German Music
Market panel will feature Bodog Music European Label Manager Jorg Hacker.
Along with Michael Bisping (A.S.S. Concert Promotion), Peter Cadera (Music
Consulting), Carol von Rautenkranz (LADO Musik), Stephanie Pierre (Scout
Promotion) and Stefan "Spencer" Theile (Karrera Klub), Hacker will be
discussing potential opportunities in the German market for Canadian artists
and labels. Join the group March 9 at 3 p.m. in the Algonquin Room for the
Fresh off the recent SnoCore Tour, Vancouver's Neurosonic is ready to
rock Bodog Music's Showcase, playing the best from their recently released
debut, Drama Queen. Joining the Canadian rockers is special guest Bif Naked.
Opening the night will be Bodog Music Urban Artist Bishop "The Gambling Man"
Brigante, followed by The New Cities and headlining the night are The Ending.
Showgoers will also get to hang with the Battle of the Band judges -- Bif
Naked, Billy Duffy, Johnny Rotten -- who will all be hosting the free show.

Bodog Music will also be a part of the 2007 Canadian Radio Music Awards
luncheon on March 10 and the Canadian Music Industry Awards dinner on March 8.
