Bob Marley Day 2009



    TORONTO, Feb. 3 /CNW/ - For the 19th consecutive year, the Mayor of the
City of Toronto has officially declared February 6th Bob Marley Day in the
City of Toronto.
    Mayor David Miller through the use of an official proclamation recognized
that internationally, the Message of Bob Marley continues to inspire hope.
    Following along with this message, the theme for Bob Marley Day 2009 is
"EDUCATION IS THE KEY". This is part of our continuing goal to inspire our
young people to Stay in School in order to fulfill their dreams.

    
    This year's award recipients include:

        Farley Flex - Canadian Idol Judge
        Dr. Sheldon Taylor - Professor at the University of Toronto
        Karl Subban - Principle of Brookview Middle School
        P.K. Subban - Member of Canada's Work Junior Gold Medal Team
        Gerry Connelly - Director of the Toronto District School Board
        Femi Doyle Marshall - Student and winner of the Lincoln Alexander
         Award
        Spider Jones - Radio Show Host.
        James Flaherty - Anti-Gang DVD (MOUSE)
