Board appointees bring arts, financial backgrounds to revitalized TVO



    TORONTO, June 8 /CNW/ - TVO, Ontario's public educational media
organization, today announced the appointment of Judith Robertson and Penny
Eizenga to its Board of Directors.
    "Both Judith and Penny will be valuable additions to the TVO Board," said
Peter O'Brian, Chair of TVO's Board of Directors. "Judith brings an impressive
track record of strategic planning and building organizations from her
experiences in the financial services industry. Penny has a wide-ranging
background encompassing public service and the private sector, as well as a
commitment to community arts organizations."
    Ms. Robertson has played a leading role in establishing innovative
strategies with a number of financial services organizations, including
Perimeter Financial Corp., where she is currently Executive Vice President,
Business Development.
    London, Ontario-based Ms. Eizenga had a notable career with Novartis
Pharmaceuticals, where she was responsible for building alliances with key
Ontario healthcare decision makers. She is active in the London theatre
community, as both an actor and theatre Board member.
    "TVO is undergoing an exciting transformation to become a more engaging
public service for the people of Ontario," notes TVO's CEO Lisa de Wilde. "The
experience, knowledge and creativity that Judith and Penny bring with them
will be an asset to not only the Board, but to TVO as a whole."
    Board members of the Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVO's
formal title as a provincial Crown agency) are appointed by order in council
by the Ontario government.
