MONTREAL, Oct. 28 /CNW Telbec/ - Blue Note Mining Inc. reports that it
has intersected a significant width of mineralization during the course of its
underground drilling program at its Caribou mine, located near Bathurst, New
Brunswick.
The highlight of this drilling program is hole UGX-08-27, drilled in the
lower edge of the inferred resources envelope intersected an estimated true
width of 34.8 meters (49.17 meters core length) grading 7.22% Zn and 2.69% Pb.
The mineralization located in hole UGX-08-27 is significantly thicker
than the typical ore width currently mined in the Caribou deposit which are on
average between 3 and 5 meters. This ore grade intersection remains open at
depth and along strike to the north, both directions point toward potential
new resources not accounted for in the inferred resources category of the
Caribou deposit.
The objective of the recent underground exploration program was to
further define portions of the known inferred resource located directly below
current mine reserves. Drilling was also undertaken to explore for additional
mineralization in the vicinity of the current resource. The program
successfully tested the down plunge extension of ore lenses 1, 2, 3 and 6.
The last 10 holes of the initial underground drilling program targeted
the extension of Lens 1 between Levels 5 and 7. All the holes drilled
intersected significant sulphide mineralization. Assay results for Ag and Au
are pending for the last 10 holes of the program (UGX-08-24 to UGX-08-33).
Over 8,863 meters have been drilled in 44 holes using two drills located
on Levels 4 and 5 in the Caribou mine.
The exploration drill program has been suspended for the remainder of
2008 and the focus will shift to evaluating the impact of the drilling
completed to date. This evaluation will include detailed engineering work and
cost estimates. The drill program is expected to resume when conditions
permit.

Blue Note Mining follows a rigorous QA/QC protocol on all its exploration
projects. Drill core sent for analysis is split in half with one half sent for
analysis and the other half kept for future reference. Activation
Laboratories Ltd. (ACTLABS) performed the analytical work for diamond drill
holes completed. All samples are assayed for silver, copper, lead and zinc by
sodium peroxide fusion and acid followed by ICP/OES. Gold assays were
determined by fire assay and atomic absorption. Barren sulphide samples were
prepared and assayed in house by the Blue Note Caribou laboratory. All samples
were assayed for silver, copper, lead and zinc by atomic absorption
spectrometry.
