Blue Jays make roster moves



    TORONTO, June 7 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS announce that CF VERNON
WELLS and INF JOHN McDONALD have been re-instated from the disabled list and
will be eligible for game action today. In addition, RHP BRIAN WOLFE has been
recalled from Syracuse. To make room on the roster 2B AARON HILL has been
placed on the 15-day disabled list retro-active to May 30, RHP ARMANDO BENITEZ
has been designated for assignment and INF JOE INGLETT has been optioned to
Syracuse (AAA) of the International League.
    Wells, is returning from a cracked left wrist suffered in Cleveland on
May 9. The 29-year old, has appeared in 36 games this season, batting .281
with five home runs and a team leading 24 RBI. In two games on a rehab
assignment, Wells was 4-8 with four RBI.
    McDonald, injured his ankle vs. TB on May 6. The Westlake, Ohio resident
has appeared in 17 games in 2008. In three games at Dunedin on a rehab
assignment, posted .364 avg. (4-11), with an RBI.
    Wolfe, 27, is returning from a triceps strain. In eight games this
season, he has posted a 0-1 record with a 3.68 ERA. In five games
(Dunedin/Syracuse), allowed only two hits in five innings, while striking out
six.
