Blue Jays complete Bautista deal



    TORONTO, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have sent C ROBINZON DIAZ
to the Pittsburgh Pirates to complete the trade for INF JOSE BAUTISTA.
    DIAZ, 24, is currently with Syracuse (AAA) of the International League,
having appeared in 36 games, hitting .244 (32-131) with seven doubles, one
triple, one home run and 13 RBI. He has also appeared for the GCL (Rookie) and
Dunedin (A) Blue Jays on a rehab assignment, due to an ankle injury in 2008.
The Monte Plata, Dominican Republic native made his major league debut with
Toronto on April 23 at Tampa Bay, going 0-4 as a designated hitter in his only
appearance.
