Blue Jays claim T.J. Beam



    TORONTO, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed RHP T.J. BEAM
off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.
    BEAM, 28, posted a 2-2 record with a 4.48 ERA in 32 games, all in relief
for the Pittsburgh Pirates this past season. The Scottsdale, Arizona native
has appeared in 52 major league with the Yankees (2006) and Pirates (2008),
posting a 4-2 mark with a 5.37 ERA. In parts of five minor league seasons, the
6-7, 215 lb. right-hander has posted a 24-19 record with a 2.75 ERA.
    To make room on the 40-man roster INF/OF RUSS ADAMS has been designated
for assignment.
