Blue Jays claim LHP Reid Santos



    TORONTO, Sept. 23 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have claimed LHP REID
SANTOS from the Cleveland Indians.
    SANTOS, 26, split the 2008 season between the Akron Aeroes of the Eastern
League (AA) and the Buffalo Bisons (AAA) of the International League.
Combined, the 6-1, 170lb. left-hander from Wahiawa, Hawaii, made 45 relief
appearances, posting a 4-3 record with two saves and a 4.89 ERA. Santos was
Cleveland's 13th round selection in the 2002 first year player draft out of
Saddelback Junior College in California.
    The addition of Santos, who will not be reporting to Toronto, now gives
the Blue Jays 39 players on their 40-man roster.
