Blue Jays add Mike Bordick to Minor League staff



    TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - The BLUE JAYS have added MIKE BORDICK to the
organization as Roving Minor League Infield Instructor.
    BORDICK, 43, played 14 seasons in the Major Leagues from 1990 to 2003 and
posted a .260 career batting average in 1720 games with 257 doubles, 91 home
runs and 626 RBI. The Marquette, Michigan native played 1,577 games at
shortstop and posted a .982 fielding percentage while playing for the Oakland
Athletics (1990-1996), the Baltimore Orioles (1997-2000, 2001-2002), the New
York Mets (2000) and the Toronto Blue Jays (2003). Bordick, considered one of
the finest fielding shortstops in the game during his career, finished his
career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003 when he hit .274 with 18 doubles,
five home runs and 54 RBI in 102 games.
