Blue Jays acquire Bush

TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have acquired RHP MATT
BUSH from the San Diego Padres in exchange for a player to be named later or
cash considerations.
BUSH, 23, was the first overall pick of the 2004 draft, selected by San
Diego as a shortstop, however converted to a pitcher during the 2007 season.
The San Diego, California native did not pitch in 2008, as he was recovering
from "Tommy John" surgery. In 2007, the 5-9, 195 lb. right-hander posted a 1-0
record with a 1.17 ERA in seven games prior to the injury, adding 16
strikeouts in 7.2 innings.

To make room on the 40-man roster RHP DIRK HAYHURST has been released.
Hayhurst was acquired on waivers from the Padres on October 6, 2008.
