TORONTO, Sept. 8 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Income Fund announces that an
operating subsidiary of the Fund has executed a Design and Construction
Contract with BCHS Healthcare (Surrey) Limited Partnership ("BCHS") to
construct an outpatient hospital in Surrey, British Columbia. On May 27, 2008
the Fund announced that Bird was part of the contracting joint venture to the
BCHS consortium that was selected as the preferred proponent to design, build,
finance and maintain the new hospital. Since that time, the project has
reached financial close.
The Fund's role, in conjunction with our joint venture partner Bouygues
Building British Columbia Inc., relates to the design and construction of the
hospital. The design and construction operations will be conducted under the
name BYBIRD Joint Venture.
