Game enthusiasts expected to line up for copies of highly anticipated
sequel, Gears of War 2
TORONTO, Oct. 30 /CNW/ - Best Buy Canada will launch Gears of War(R) 2 at
midnight opening events at all Best Buy locations across the country (8 a.m.
in Quebec and Gatineau. Gears of War 2 picks up six months after the events of
Gears of War(R) - gamers will find themselves taken back into the deep and
harrowing story of humankind's battle for survival against underground
creatures known as the Locust Horde. Gears of War 2 is the sequel to the
critically acclaimed best-seller Gears of War, which sold over three million
copies in just ten weeks, and was the fastest-selling next-generation game of
2006. Both Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are designed exclusively for the
Xbox 360(R) console.
Media including TV crews, reporters and photographers are invited to
visit the Best Buy locations opening at midnight.
Midnight Opening Details:
All Best Buy Canada locations will open from midnight until 2 a.m. on
Friday, November 7, 2008, with the exception of store locations in Quebec and
Gatineau, which will open at 8 a.m on Friday, November 7, 2008. Stores will be
open exclusively for the sale of Gears of War 2 and some related products.
Xbox Street Teams will be on location at Toronto's Bay and Dundas and the
Edmonton South stores creating a great "army style" theatrical experience for
both customers and media.
