Best B.C. Schools Identified in New C.D. Howe Institute Study

TORONTO, Feb. 12 /CNW/ - Parents, teachers and administrators can now
better assess the performance of B.C.'s elementary schools thanks to a new
analysis released today by the C.D. Howe Institute. In the study, School
Grades: Identifying British Columbia's Best Schools, David Johnson, Professor
of Economics, Wilfrid Laurier University, and Education Policy Scholar at the
C.D. Howe Institute, removes the influence of local socioeconomic factors from
each school's performance, in order to identify which schools are doing better
or worse than expected given the socioeconomic characteristics of their
students.
