THUNDER BAY, ON, Nov. 2 /CNW/ - Benton Resources Corp. ("Benton") is
pleased to report that the last batch of assays have been received for grab
samples collected from this past summer's exploration program at the
Kingurutik Lake (previously King Lake) property in Labrador which it holds
with joint venture partner Teck Cominco Limited ("Teck Cominco"). The results
further confirm the presence of copper (Cu), nickel (Ni) and cobalt (Co)
mineralization associated with numerous, separate conductive zones across this
large project currently being explored by the joint venture.
The new results, which are for samples collected from several smaller but
significant conductive areas show individual grab sample assays up to 6.0% Cu,
1.18% Ni and 0.26% Co. These significant new results continue to confirm the
potential on the property for the discovery of a large magmatic Cu, Ni and Co
To date, a total of 324 grab samples have been collected from several
conductive target areas identified by an AeroTEM survey completed in April
2007. The target zones outlined by the airborne survey have been labeled
alphabetically A through V and sample results for these targets, along with a
location map, have been posted on Benton's Web site at www.bentonresources.ca.
The company remains excited about the project as the results demonstrate
that most of the high priority electromagnetic anomalies have associated
In addition, the joint venture has now completed partial ground
geophysical (UTEM) surveying over several targets on the property to better
define some of the large conductive zones (as defined by the airborne survey)
and to prioritize potential diamond drill targets. Results from the survey
will be released when received and compiled.
