WINNIPEG, April 13 /CNW/ - Bee Maid Honey Limited announced today that
the company has launched a new interactive online promotion that will
provide consumers with an inside look at where honey comes from and how
it can be used.
The online promotion will feature Bee Maid Honey beekeepers and will
invite consumers to learn how honey actually gets from the beehive to
people's homes. An interactive video introduces each section of the
website and is customized to each viewer. There is also a recipe
contest that allows people to upload, download, rate and comment on
recipes using honey.
"How honey is produced is one of the most fascinating stories in food
production. In today's food environment it is important to know that
every drop of Bee Maid honey can be traced back to one of our
producers. And it is important that consumers better understand the
role the honey bee and the honey producer play in bringing this
wonderfully pure product to our table." said Guy Chartier, CEO of Bee
The promotion, which runs from April 11 through September 30 is aimed at
families in Western Canada and includes the opportunity to win grocery
gift cards. It will also integrate with Facebook to allow Facebook
users to dynamically sign into the site via Facebook Connect.
"As Canadian beekeepers, we recognize how important it is to maintain
the highest quality standards of our honey and this promotion gives us
the opportunity to talk to consumers about our business and the bees on
which we are so reliant" said Ted Turnbull, beekeeper.
Bee Maid Honey produces 100% pure Canadian honey and is proudly owned by
Canadian beekeepers. With beekeepers located across western Canada and
