mentoring and essential business skills they need to thrive.
Entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 29 can qualify for grants of up
to $3000 from the Ontario government. Applications are due by April 30, 2008.
Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship <a href="http://www.sbe.gov.on.ca/ontcan/sbe/en/about_bio_takhar_en.jsp">Harinder Takhar</a> joined
several past summer company students on Breakfast Television today. The
students showcased their successful businesses launched by the Summer Company
"Our government is providing future business leaders with an outstanding
opportunity to learn first-hand how entrepreneurs become successful and remain
competitive," said Takhar.
"The Summer Company program was the real push factor for me to actually
start my own business," said Adam Lucci, owner of Mercury Apparel and past
Summer Company participant. "The program gave me valuable real-life experience
that I couldn't get in a classroom."
- The Summer Company program has supported over 1,700 students to
launch their own businesses since the program began in 2001.
