WINNIPEG, May 12 /CNW/ - Marketing campaigns designed, developed and
executed for Canterra Seeds and the Canola Council of Canada by Winnipeg-based
BCG Communications received top honours at the 2009 Signature Awards, held
Friday May 8, 2009 in Winnipeg. Sponsored by the Advertising Association of
Winnipeg, submissions from more than 350 entries in 36 categories were judged
by international agencies located in Minneapolis, Anchorage, Singapore and
BCG Communications President Robert Bulman is thrilled with the results.
"What is most exciting for us is that, among competition from shopping malls,
football teams, airports and blue jeans, a marketing campaign for canola seed
was the clear crowd favourite," he says. Adds David Lazarenko, BCG Account
Supervisor, "Linking brand positioning to client marketing materials is the
natural way to build an enduring message. To be successful in maintaining
brands, however, you must know and respect every aspect of the client's
business. For example, the theme of hidden treasure worked to support the
largely invisible work of years of research and development that go into
developing a seed variety good enough to bear the Canterra Seeds brand." He
says the challenge of building excitement around a familiar, relatively
generic product- canola oil- lead to the idea of a series of vignettes that
provided a fact based story around a fun theme of competitive chefs.
The award winners for BCG's clients are:
