BURNABY, BC, Sept. 13 /CNW/ - MLA John Nuraney relayed Premier, Hon.
Gordon Campbell's well wishes, "Our Province is experiencing an unprecedented
growth. The investment level in the Province is the highest on record and the
rate of unemployment is the lowest ever in our Province. It is a company like
Bosa Properties who acts as our partner in promoting our economic goal and to
ensure that they walk side by side with us as we move forward to making our
Province the best place on earth both on economic and social fronts."
Yesterday Bosa Properties and The Fox Group celebrated the construction
completion of an intricate and complex 6 storey addition to their Burnaby
office tower - Central Park Place. "Vertical Phasing" is an incredibly complex
and intricate undertaking that requires optimal calculation, organization,
planning and craftsmanship. This undertaking has been attempted only a handful
of times across North America and Bosa Properties and The Fox Group are proud
to be among a small and elite group of developers and builders in North
America who have ever done so.
Since construction began some ten months ago, Bosa Properties has poured
over 8500 tons of concrete atop the pre-existing 12-storey tower. They have
injected in excess of 60,000 hours of labour into our economy and created a
home for over 500 new employees.
In late 1999, Bosa Properties and The Fox Group developed the Central
Park Place office tower. Due to the contraction of the Provincial economy at
the end of the nineties and a less than healthy market for office space, the
company elected to vertically-phase this tower. They put on hold the remaining
6 stories until such time that our economy was flourishing - and that time has
now come. With today's thriving B.C. economy and healthy demand for new office
space throughout the Province, Bosa Properties and The Fox Group boldly
embraced the finalization of the 2nd vertical phase of this tower.
Bosa Properties and The Fox Group will conceal a Time Capsule on the
rooftop of this final vertical phase. Preserving the mark of history and the
legacy from one generation to another is liberating for all individuals and
organizations. Editors and writers have sent in articles or photos pertaining
to the strong economy and influx of new construction. The Time Capsule will be
sealed until September 12, 2057. Mayor Derek Corrigan of Burnaby and MLA John
Nuraney officiated the ceremony and poured the last section of cement on top
of the office tower.
Bosa Properties has been busy keeping up with the booming economy as of
late. "Three years ago we completed HighGate Village here in South Burnaby - a
new urban village that has truly changed an entire neighbourhood. Two years
ago we completed Paramount Place on the corner of Burrard and Smithe in
downtown Vancouver. Last year we began construction on our Miramar Village -
urban village and shopping centre in White Rock. And this year, we complete
the vertical phasing of Central Park Place," quotes Daryl Simpson, VP Sales
