VAPOR APX Skate's Technical Materials and Proprietary Manufacturing
Deliver Unprecedented Elite Performance
TORONTO, May 3 /CNW/ - Bauer Hockey, Inc., the world's leading
manufacturer of ice hockey equipment, unveiled its most advanced skate,
the BAUER VAPOR APX. The combination of technological advancements and
new materials combined with a proprietary manufacturing process has
created the lightest and best-performing VAPOR skate ever.
"The VAPOR name has become synonymous with elite-level hockey
performance and with the BAUER VAPOR APX, we raised that bar even
higher," said Ken Covo, Sr. Director, Research & Development, Bauer
Hockey. "The result is the most technologically advanced skate we have
ever made in our company's 83-year history."
The VAPOR APX is constructed through a proprietary manufacturing process
designed and developed solely by Bauer's technical team. This 3D
compression molding process creates a design that no other manufacturer
in the industry can duplicate. The result is a better fitting,
lightweight skate that delivers unprecedented performance.
The new BAUER VAPOR APX skate features:
Curv® Composite Boot - Built to provide players with distinct VAPOR attributes while reducing
weight, the Curv® composite material and X-Rib design pattern provides structural support
and stability throughout the boot allowing for faster acceleration and
Form-Fit 3 Tongue - Designed and engineered to enhance lace bite protection, the Form-Fit 3
Tongue features an exposed metatarsal guard to enable the laces of the
skate to slide up and down the tongue rather than compressing the
internal foam. The result is enhanced comfort and a reduction in the
skate's overall breakdown.
Hydra-Max 2 Liner - The moisture wicking liner combined with an integrated comfort wrap now
delivers a superior liner that keeps the foot dry and cool while
locking the heel tight in place. The comfort wrap also helps alleviate abrasion high on the ankle that is
common during the break-in process and adds comfort throughout the life
of the skate.
TUUK LS FUSION Runner - The runner design fuses strength and performance of BAUER's elite-level
stainless steel with high-grade aluminum, reducing weight of the runner
by 27 per cent and delivering increased speed and power with every
FORM-FIT+ Footbed -The new FORM-FIT+ footbed system provides players with dual density foam
performance with added comfort in the toe area. The toe protection
feature can be customized to specific player's needs for an overall,
more enjoyable playing experience.
The VAPOR APX is the latest elite edition of the widely successful VAPOR
line of skates, which has become the choice of top players throughout
the world. Currently, star players such as Steven Stamkos, Patrick
Kane, Jonathan Toews and Nic Backstrom all wear VAPOR skates.
Bauer Hockey also launched the "We Advanced the Skate, So You Can Change
the Game" campaign, which provides an inside look into the
revolutionary development process of the highly anticipated VAPOR APX.
In addition to television, print and in-arena advertising, the campaign
features a comprehensive digital experience and an opportunity to win
custom manufactured skates at BAUER's Research & Design Center in St.
