Banff Olympic Torch Relay Celebration Heats Up

The Canadian Tenors to Headline Event

BANFF NATIONAL PARK, AB, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - The Olympic Torch won't be the
only thing heating up Banff on January 20, 2010. The Vancouver 2010 Olympic
Torch Relay will be welcomed into more than 1,000 communities across Canada
and Banff will be hosting an evening celebration unlike any other in Canada to
mark the occasion. It was announced today that the internationally renowned
quartet The Canadian Tenors will be performing at the two-hour outdoor
celebration, their only appearance at an Olympic Torch event.
"The Canadian Tenors have performed at amazing venues around the world,
but it will be a first for us to perform with the snow-capped peaks of the
Canadian Rockies as our backdrop" said Max Kubiak, from the management of The
Canadian Tenors with Jeffrey Latimer Entertainment. "The breathtaking vocal
performance of The Canadian Tenors will be a perfect match for the
breathtaking scenery of Banff."
"Olympic athletes have been born, raised and have trained in Banff
National Park. It is very exciting that the Olympic torch will be coming to
Banff considering the importance of our Olympic legacy," said Julie Canning,
president and CEO of Banff Lake Louise Tourism. "With the appearance of such a
high calibre and desirable act as The Canadian Tenors to our Olympic Torch
celebration we are certain that it will be an incredible and memorable event
for locals and visitors alike."
The Olympic Torch Celebration is a free event that will take place in
downtown Banff. The arrival of the torch and the festival atmosphere will
allow everyone in attendance with a personal opportunity to share in the
Olympic experience and spirit of the Games.

    About the Canadian Tenors

The Canadian Tenors' music is an eclectic blend of classical and
contemporary pop that is thrilling audiences of all ages. The Tenors are the
incredibly powerful voices of four gifted young men with diverse vocal styles,
undeniable charm, international solo success and are one of Canada's most
sought-after exports.
This vocal sensation's debut album has gone gold in Canada and is being
released around the world by Universal Music and its affiliates. The music of
Port McNeil's Clifton Murray, Toronto's Victor Micallef, Ottawa's Remigio
Pereira and Vancouver's Fraser Walters is rich and soulful with powerful
anthems and the most beautiful melodies.
From performing opening songs for President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister
Tony Blair and President Shimon Peres to making musical memories at events
with icons such as John Legend, Wyclef Jean and of course Canada's musical
maestro David Foster the Canadian Tenors' reputation is that of talented
singers and genuine artists with big hearts. They dazzled audiences in a
cross-country tour of Holland. The Tenors also performed for thousands in
London's Trafalgar Square on Canada day in 2008 and on Parliament Hill in
Ottawa with Sarah McLachlan in 2009. They have thrilled the likes of HRH
Prince Edward and Princess Sophia and so many others in intimate settings and
locations from Tahiti to Bermuda to Vienna.
