CAMBRIDGE, ON, Aug. 20 /CNW/ - Babcock & Wilcox Canada Ltd. (B&W Canada)
is pleased to announce the award of a major contract for Fort Hills Energy LP.
The contract, awarded by Jacobs Canada Inc. which is acting as agent for
Fort Hills Energy LP, is for the supply of four modularized boilers and
auxiliary equipment for the Fort Hills Mine located 90 kilometers north of
Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.
Selected components, such as headers, wall panels and drums, will be
fabricated in B&W Canada's Cambridge facility, while component fabrication and
modularization will be completed in its Melville, Saskatchewan, facility. B&W
Canada will ship modules directly to the job site from its Melville facility.
Delivery to the job site is scheduled to be completed by April 2010.
"This contract demonstrates our ability to develop products to meet the
specific challenges of the Alberta marketplace, including environmental
requirements, construction resource supply, equipment performance, and
reliability," said Babcock & Wilcox Canada President Mike Lees.

increasing our role as a major supplier of steam-producing equipment in the
