LONGUEUIL, QC, Oct. 11 /CNW Telbec/ - Azimut Exploration Inc. ("Azimut")
and Majescor Resources Inc. ("Majescor") announce the results of a
helicopter-borne survey performed at the West Minto uranium property in
Nunavik, northern Quebec. Seventy-one (71) priority uranium targets have been
defined from helicopter-borne geophysics, forming 17 kilometric-scale distinct
target areas. The West Minto property comprises 952 claims covering a surface
area of 432 km(2). Majescor has an option from Azimut to earn an interest of
up to 65% on the property.
Geo Data Solutions Inc. ("GDS") of Laval completed a magnetic and
radiometric survey of the property in mid-August, covering 4,610 line-km at
100 m line spacing. Geophysical consultant MB Geosolutions of Quebec-City, in
conjunction with technical staff from Azimut and Majescor, have defined and
categorized 71 high priority uranium targets at West Minto's Block AB, forming
17 distinct zones, after examining the preliminary data. Over 400 uranium
anomalies were categorized on the West Minto property - 328 anomalies on
Block AB and 79 anomalies on Block CD. An additional 34 map-designated claims
were subsequently staked to protect a few of the targets.
The West Minto property is underlain by Archean tonalitic and granitic
rocks straddling a narrow north-trending felsic volcanic interval composed of
rhyolites, dacites and pyroclastics. Most of the anomalous uranium zones
appear located along the flanks of the felsic volcanic unit. When the final
helicopter-borne geophysical data is evaluated by Majescor and Azimut, the
partners will develop a comprehensive follow-up exploration program for the
