Avon invites Canada to Paint it Pink!

An Innovative Way to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

MONTREAL, June 23 /CNW/ - Today, Avon Canada launched its latest national
Breast Cancer Crusade campaign - Paint it Pink! Getting some much needed funds
for local breast cancer charities is as easy as "thinking pink" with this
innovative national campaign that invites Canadians to submit a photo of
themselves with an expression of pink along with a local breast cancer charity
nomination. This October, Avon Canada's Breast Cancer Crusade will be handing
out a total of up to $500,000 to breast cancer charities nominated through
Paint it Pink.
To mark the launch, Avon's Canadian corporate headquarters was the site
of a never before seen, grand-scale pink event that involved more than 600
friends of Avon. Avon associates, breast cancer survivors, local
personalities, artists and members of the community came together in a show of
hope and solidarity to participate in this unique event, where 24,000 sq. ft.
of Avon's corporate headquarter grounds was painted in a bold expression of
pink.
Participants at this event worked together to share the colour of hope in
creative and unique ways to symbolize the continued belief and caring behind
Avon Canada's Breast Cancer Crusade and commitment to find a cure.

Paint it Pink - Letting YOU Decide Where the Donations Go

Avon's Paint it Pink campaign demonstrates that every "one" can make a
difference and invites the general public to get involved and share their
expressions of pink via the www.paintitpinkcanada.com website.
Inspired by the popularity of social networking sites, this grass-roots
program gives each individual the opportunity to send a message of hope,
upload their expression of pink, as well as nominate a breast cancer charity
for consideration for a donation from the Avon Foundation for Women - Canada.
Participants can also invite friends and family to vote for their "Pink
photo," whereby Avon's foundation will donate $2 per vote to breast cancer
organizations across Canada, up to a maximum of $500,000.
"At Avon, we believe that each and every individual should have a say
when it comes to making a difference," says Chris Stevens, President, Avon
Canada. "All breast cancer charities, no matter how big or how small, should
be considered for funding by Avon's Breast Cancer Crusade. This is not about
another corporate donation, this is about a corporate citizen reaching out to
its community and asking how YOU think the Avon foundation's funds can best be
allocated to continue to make great strides in the fight against breast
cancer."
As a show of thanks, Avon is also offering participants the chance to win
prizes including all-inclusive vacations and Avon gift packs. Full details can
be found at www.paintitpinkcanada.com.
Avon Independent Representatives across the nation will also be rallying
for the cause by creating their own Pink events and encouraging customers,
friends and family to log on to www.paintitpinkcanada.com.
