An Innovative Way to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer
MONTREAL, June 23 /CNW/ - Today, Avon Canada launched its latest national
Breast Cancer Crusade campaign - Paint it Pink! Getting some much needed funds
for local breast cancer charities is as easy as "thinking pink" with this
innovative national campaign that invites Canadians to submit a photo of
themselves with an expression of pink along with a local breast cancer charity
nomination. This October, Avon Canada's Breast Cancer Crusade will be handing
out a total of up to $500,000 to breast cancer charities nominated through
Paint it Pink.
To mark the launch, Avon's Canadian corporate headquarters was the site
of a never before seen, grand-scale pink event that involved more than 600
friends of Avon. Avon associates, breast cancer survivors, local
personalities, artists and members of the community came together in a show of
hope and solidarity to participate in this unique event, where 24,000 sq. ft.
of Avon's corporate headquarter grounds was painted in a bold expression of

Paint it Pink - Letting YOU Decide Where the Donations Go
Avon's Paint it Pink campaign demonstrates that every "one" can make a
difference and invites the general public to get involved and share their
expressions of pink via the www.paintitpinkcanada.com website.
Inspired by the popularity of social networking sites, this grass-roots
program gives each individual the opportunity to send a message of hope,
upload their expression of pink, as well as nominate a breast cancer charity
for consideration for a donation from the Avon Foundation for Women - Canada.
Participants can also invite friends and family to vote for their "Pink
photo," whereby Avon's foundation will donate $2 per vote to breast cancer
organizations across Canada, up to a maximum of $500,000.
"At Avon, we believe that each and every individual should have a say
