Atna Commences Drilling at Jarbidge, Nevada

VANCOUVER, June 14 /CNW/ - Atna Resources Ltd. (ATN:TSX) is pleased to
announce the commencement of a 12,000 foot drill program at the Jarbidge
project, Elko County, Nevada. A diamond drill is on-site and has collared the
first hole for the season along the Longhike-Flaxie structure. A reverse
circulation drill is expected before month end so that two drills will be
working on site. The program will include 15 to 20 holes to follow up on drill
results from Atna's 2006 program and to test new target areas (Press releases
January 10, 2007).

    Drilling will:
    - explore gold mineralization in veins and alteration zones
    - Further define veins along strike, and
    - Test extensions of historically mined ore veins and structures that
        have had little modern exploration.

Jarbidge is a historic gold mining district that produced over
350,000 ounces of gold and 1.2 million ounces of silver prior to 1937. Gold
and silver mineralization is hosted by Tertiary rhyolitic volcanoclastics and
lavas associated with the Jarbidge volcanic center. Mineralization is
characterized by low-sulfidation, epithermal bonanza vein systems similar to
Newmont's Ken Snyder Mine and Great Basin Gold's Hollister deposit, in Elko
County. Atna has targeted the quartz-adularia vein systems that were
prospected and/or developed early in the last century that have received
little or no modern exploration. Mapping, sampling, and historic data
compilation have identified over 55,000 linear feet of veins and/or altered
fault zones representing drill target areas within the claim group, which
totals 3140 acres (1271 hectares) of patented and unpatented federal mining
lode claims.
A rigorous quality assurance and quality control program including
certified standards and blanks, and duplicate samples will be implemented. All
mineralized samples will be check assayed by a second laboratory. Sample
preparation and analysis of the drill samples will be completed by
Inspectorate America Corporation, an ISO certified laboratory, at its facility
in Reno, Nevada.
