Astral Media celebrates $3 million mark in support of Dr Clown



    MONTREAL, June 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Astral Media is proud to announce that
it has reached its objective of donating over $3 million in advertising-time
to the non-profit, therapeutic clown organization, Dr Clown. This objective,
which was announced in 2005, was expected to be realized over a three-year
period, with the advertising campaign launching on July 6, 2005. The Company
is very pleased to announce that it has reached its objective one year early.

its visibility and drawing attention to the excellent work that they do with

relationship with the organization; assisting them in the creation of two ad
campaigns, launching these campaigns, and raising funds through employee
initiatives to encourage the organization in the work that they do."
    Over the past two years, Astral Media has provided advertising space on
its three media platforms, radio, television and outdoor advertising, in order
to increase Dr Clown's awareness and support its fundraising initiatives. In
addition, the Company helped Dr Clown to create two distinct ad campaigns, the
first, which was designed by Allard Johnson; and the second, which was
selected by an independent jury, sponsored by Astral Media at the 2006 Crea
Awards, was designed by Bos. In addition to the advertising support that
Astral Media has provided, the Company has raised 28 751.81$ from employee-led
initiatives. In February 2007, Canal Vie, one of the Company's French
specialty networks also aired a documentary supported financially by Le Fonds
Harold Greenberg entitled, Rire aux Anges, that was created by Sylvie Lauzon,
host of TOUT L'MONDE DEBOUT on RockDétente and Maigrir aujourd'hui en forme et
en santé on Canal Vie.
    Since the launch of the ad campaigns, Dr Clown has experienced a
significant increase in individual and corporate donations which have allowed
them to offer a greater amount of programs in Montréal as well as to help
launch 5 programs in Québec city this coming September. The exposure and
notoriety given to Dr Clown through the ad campaigns and through the
documentary Rire aux Anges was of great help and facilitated Dr Clown's
process when soliciting donators. "As a result, we will have twice as many
programs (18), by the end of 2008. Thank you Astral Media for this amazing
