RICHMOND, BC, June 4 /CNW/ - Ascalade Communications Inc. ("Ascalade" or
"the company") (TSX: ACG) a leading designer and manufacturer of wireless
communications products, today announced the appointment of Mr. Greg Allen to
the position of President, effective June 21, 2007. In this role, Mr. Allen
will oversee virtually every aspect of Ascalade's business operations
including sales, marketing, manufacturing and product development. This will
allow Dr. Edmund Ho, who previously held the title of President, and who will
remain as Ascalade's Chairman and CEO, to focus on business strategy.

Allen will play a key role in helping Ascalade achieve its near and long-term
objectives. These include:
- completing and relocating to its new manufacturing facility, on time
and on budget;
- expanding its relationship with its large multinational partners;
- expanding its sales channels for maximum efficiency and distribution
- continuing to drive the companies technology leadership position; and
- improving its operating results by increasing revenue, adding more
value-added products to its portfolio and improving factory
efficiency and utilization.

Prior to joining Ascalade, Mr. Allen spent more than a decade working in
senior management positions with large, multinational manufacturing companies.
Most recently, he acted as Vice President, Canadian Operations, and then Vice
President and General Manager, IBM Account at Celestica Inc. ("Celestica").
Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Celestica delivers innovative electronics
manufacturing services through a global network of approximately 40
manufacturing and design facilities. During 2006, it generated revenue of
Mr. Allen's previous positions also include Engineering and Program
Management roles at Solectron Corporation, a leading global provider of
electronics manufacturing services and integrated supply chain solutions. A
native of New Zealand, Mr. Allen holds a technical diploma in Radio
Communications from the Central Institute of Technology in Wellington, New
Zealand, as well as an M.B.A. from Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland.
