ASC Seeking Trading Ban Against Momentas Corporation and Directors

    CALGARY, Oct. 27 /CNW/ - The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) is
seeking to reciprocate Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) orders against
Momentas Corporation, its managing directors Howard Rash and Alexander Funt,
its CEO and director Malcolm Rogers and its president, CFO and director
Suzanne Morrison.

    OSC orders issued April 4, 2006 and July 23, 2007:

    - permanently ban Momentas Corporation from trading or using securities
        law exemptions;
    - permanently ban Funt and Rash from trading, using securities law
        exemptions and acting as a director or officer of any issuer;
    - ban Morrison from trading, using securities law exemptions and acting
        as a director or officer of any issuer for 10 years; and
    - ban Rogers from trading, using securities law exemptions and acting
        as a director or officer of any issuer for three years.

    ASC staff allege that Momentas Corporation has been active in the Alberta
capital market and that the respondents are not registered in Alberta to trade
in securities.
    It is anticipated that an ASC panel will consider this matter in November
2008.
    A copy of the Notice of Application is available on the ASC website at
www.albertasecurities.com.

    The ASC is the regulatory agency responsible for administering the
province's securities laws. It is entrusted to foster a fair and efficient
capital market in Alberta and to protect investors. As a member of the
Canadian Securities Administrators, the ASC works to improve, coordinate and
harmonize the regulation of Canada's capital markets.
