OTTAWA, Sept. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment
of C. Michael Keefe to the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada, for a
period of three years.
"I am pleased that Mr. Keefe has accepted this appointment to the
Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada," said Minister Cannon. "With over
36 years of experience in the marine industry, he will be a great asset to the
Mr. Keefe is a registered professional engineer with the Province of
Newfoundland and Labrador and a first class marine engineer. He is presently
manager of fleet maintenance at Diesel Injection Sales & Service Ltd. in St.
John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and also acts as instructor for Transport
Canada's Marine Safety division. He is also recognized as a subject matter
expert in marine personnel regulations and regulatory compliance.
The Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada provides an independent
review process for anyone who has been given notice of an administrative or
enforcement action taken by the Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and
Communities, railway safety inspectors or the Canadian Transportation Agency
under various federal transportation acts.
