OTTAWA, Sept. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities today announced the appointment
of Mr. Jean-Sébastien Harvey to the board of directors of the Saguenay Port
Authority for a term of three years.
"Mr. Harvey's extensive business and management experience will serve him
well as he takes up his duties on the board of directors of the Port
Authority," said Minister Cannon. "I am pleased that he has agreed to take on
Mr. Harvey holds a bachelor of applied science from Université Laval. He
earned his Commission as a Canada Lands Surveyor in 2007 and became a member
of the Corporation of Quebec Land Surveyors in 2000. Mr. Harvey is vice
president of Tremblay Laliberté, Arpenteurs-géomètres and has worked on many
important construction, industrial and legal surveys during his professional
Mr. Harvey is also very active in his community. He is vice-president of
the board of directors of the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est chamber of commerce and
industry, member of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Rotary Club, member of the
institutional council of the vocational centre of Alma and member of the
Corporation d'aménagement de la rivière Petite-Décharge à Alma.
The Saguenay Port Authority is the Canada Port Authority (CPA)
established under the Canada Marine Act on May 1, 1999, to manage the Port of
Saguenay. As a CPA, the Saguenay Port Authority benefits from greater
management flexibility, including increased freedom to develop contracts and
borrow money from commercial lenders.
