OTTAWA, March 4 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment
of Mr. Jean-Guy Bonneau to the board of directors of the Saguenay Port
Authority for a term of two years.
"I am very pleased that Mr. Bonneau has agreed to serve on the board of
the Saguenay Port Authority," said Minister Cannon. "His business experience
will serve him well as he takes on this new responsibility."
Mr. Bonneau holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the
Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal. He has held senior positions at various
engineering firms in Quebec. Over the course of his career, he has worked on
commercial, government, institutional and industrial projects. Mr. Bonneau is
a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec and a past president of the
Rotary Club in Saguenay.
The Saguenay Port Authority is the Canada Port Authority (CPA)
established under the Canada Marine Act on May 1, 1999, to manage the Port of
Saguenay. As a CPA, the Saguenay Port Authority benefits from greater
management flexibility, including increased freedom to develop contracts and
borrow money from commercial lenders.
