OTTAWA, Jan. 31 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment
of Mr. Roger Kirk MacRae to the board of directors of the Royal Canadian Mint.
Mr. MacRae has been appointed for a period of three years.
"I am very pleased that Mr. MacRae has accepted this appointment," said
Minister Cannon. "His background in investment banking will serve the board
Mr. Roger Kirk MacRae holds a bachelor of business administration from
the University of Prince Edward Island. He currently serves as president of
R.K.M. Investments. From 1984 to 1989, he was a branch manager and investment
executive with Midland Doherty, a national investment firm. He is currently a
board member of a number of community organizations, including the Sydney
Airport Authority and the Cape Breton Partnership.
The Royal Canadian Mint is a commercial Crown corporation responsible for
the production and distribution of all of Canada's circulation coins. It also
produces foreign circulation, numismatic and bullion coins for domestic and
international consumers. The Mint's Ottawa and Winnipeg production facilities
are among the largest and most advanced minting operations in the world. The
