Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of
Mr. Jacques Tanguay as a user representative of the Quebec Port Authority for
a term of three years.
"I am pleased that Mr. Tanguay has agreed to join the Quebec Port
Authority," said Minister Cannon. "His business experience and active role in
the community will serve the Authority well."
Mr. Jacques Tanguay holds a degree in business administration from the
University of Moncton and received his accounting licence from Laval
University. He is vice president and director general of Ameublements Tanguay
Inc., and president of Groupe Commercial AMT Inc. He is also the founder and

special events in Quebec. From 1982 to 1984, he was an auditor with Caron,
Bélanger, Dallaire, Gagnon et Associés. Mr. Tanguay is active in the sports
and recreation community in Quebec.

The Quebec Port Authority is the Canada Port Authority (CPA) established
to manage the Port of Quebec, under the Canada Marine Act. As a CPA, the
Quebec Port Authority benefits from greater management flexibility, including
increased freedom to develop contracts and borrow money from commercial
lenders.
Open year-round, the Port of Quebec offers a water depth of 15.5 metres
and access to two transcontinental railway systems. The port's location
positions it as a continental gateway for cargo movements between the major
cities of eastern North America and the rest of the world.
