OTTAWA, Feb. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of
Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of
Ms. Micheline Dubé of Ottawa, Ontario, as president and chief executive
officer of the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited for a period of five years.
"I am pleased that Ms. Dubé has agreed to serve as president and chief
executive officer of the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited," said Minister
Cannon. "Her extensive experience as a senior executive will prove invaluable
to the corporation."
Ms. Dubé holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of
Ottawa. She is a certified management accountant and a fellow of the Society
of Management Accountants of Canada who began her career as an auditor with
the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. She has also held various senior
positions at the National Capital Commission, such as vice-president of
corporate and information management services, and executive vice-president
and chief operating officer. Most recently, she has been the commission's
interim chief executive officer. An active community member, she has
participated in fundraising activities for numerous volunteer groups.
The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited and its subsidiary organizations
engage in a range of activities to ensure that the bridges, tunnels, roadways
and other structures under their control are safe, modern, efficient,
environmentally sound and well maintained.
Incorporated in 1998, the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited is
responsible for the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc. and the Seaway
International Bridge Corporation Ltd., as well as the management of the
Canadian half of the Thousand Islands International Bridge and the Sault Ste.
Marie International Bridge.
