    VANCOUVER, Aug. 13 /CNW/ - Mineral Hill Industries Ltd. ("MHI") is
pleased to announce that Mr. Rafael Pinedo has been appointed to its Board of
Directors. Mr. Pinedo, based in Texas, U.S.A. has over twenty five years
experience in the energy and finance sectors. He is currently the President
and CEO of Pilgrim Petroleum Corporation and General Energy Corporation, which
are involved in oil and gas exploration projects and producing oil and gas
assets in a wide range of geographical areas. He was the founder and former
principal of American Capital Investment, LLC, an investment banking firm.
During 1985 to 1999, he built his career in the IT Industry and was a business
consultant for Cap Gemini America, Ernst & Young, and was Senior Vice
President of Oracle Corporation and Computer Associates International.
    The Company regrets that Mr. Hans Schwabl, who has been the Company's
director since 1996 is retiring from the Board of Directors but has agreed to
be a member of the Advisory Board. The Board of Directors wishes to record its
appreciation to Mr. Schwabl for his ongoing support through the Company's
growth.
    As part of its strategy to diversify its resources, MHI is exploring new
opportunities in the oil and gas industry in Northern America. The appointment
of Mr Pinedo to the Board and his leadership participation in the oil and gas
industry will enhance MHI's prospect in its new direction.
    As announced in the Company's news release on July 21, 2008, the Company
intends to also perform geothermal exploration and resource assessment in
North Western British Columbia through Nass Energy Inc. (a company jointly
owned by Mineral Hill Industries Ltd. and the Nisga'a Laxgalts'ap Village
Government's resource development corporation).
    With its diverse complement of directors, the Company and its affiliated
companies will be meeting the challenges to grow in the mining and energy
sectors.
