MONCTON, Sept. 19 /CNW/ - If you haven't heard of Bulldog Interactive
Fitness - For Youth, you've been barking up the wrong tree. The 10th Bulldog
in Canada is celebrating its GRAND OPENING Saturday from 11am to 5pm in
Bulldog Interactive Fitness is the first interactive fitness facility in
North America designed exclusively for youth - Bulldog uses the very video
games that have contributed to the inactivity epidemic in youth to get kids
moving and exercising. They have developed specialized fitness, exercise and
self-esteem programs exclusively for youth ages 3 to teen.
With the drastic rise in childhood obesity and the lack of activity in
youth, Carolyn and Mike Dawson chose to take action. Tired of reading
statistics of the growing epidemic of overweight and obese kids, the Dawson's'
decided to open a Bulldog franchise in Moncton.
"We are about teaching children and youth different ways to maintain a
healthy lifestyle," said owner Mike Dawson. "On top of providing youth with a
place to enjoy healthy physical activity, we also aim to teach them about
sportsmanship, build on their social development, and increase their self
confidence and self esteem - no one gets 'benched' at Bulldog!"
Bulldog offers memberships and programs for kids of all ages, from
pre-school to teen. Kids can drop-in for a session pass or become a member and
enjoy a whole host of programs such as the Learn to Run program (Dog Jog),
fitness classes, team sports, games, activities and contest. They have
programs for sports team training; school groups and fundraising as well as
pre-school and mom and tot programs during the days. Bulldog also takes the
cake when it comes to birthday parties and private events. They even run camps
in the summer and every holiday!
Bulldog Interactive Fitness - Moncton launches this weekend with a Grand
Opening open house on Saturday, September 20th & 21st from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
