An Ancient Art Recognised



    TORONTO, July 11 /CNW Telbec/ - The Royal Heraldry Society of Canada is
proud to announce that one of its members has been awarded the country's most
prestigious honour, the Order of Canada. Gordon Macpherson of Burlington,
Ontario, was included in the Canada Day awards list as a Member of the Order,
in recognition of his sixty-year career as Canada's premier heraldic artist -
one who paints coats of arms for institutions, municipalities and individuals.
Mr Macpherson has practiced heraldic art since 1948 - receiving Canada-wide
and world-wide recognition as a leader in the field, and has created and
painted hundreds of arms for the Canadian Heraldic Authority.
