Alpha Gold is sitting on High Grade Gold at Lustdust; NI 43-101 Resource will be calculated from +250 Holes Drilled

COQUITLAM, BC, Jan. 22 /CNW/ - Alpha Gold Corp. (TSX-V: ALQ) today
recapped for investors the high grade gold-copper results on its 100%-owned
the Canyon Creek Skarn and Skarn Extension in light of soaring gold prices.
Mineralized bands within the Skarn range from 2 to 20 m true thickness and
grade up to 24 g/t Au and 2.2% Cu.

    Lustdust Property

The Lustdust property covers an area of 8,560 hectares in central British
Columbia approximately 250 km northwest of Prince George, has road and rail
access, and electric power is available at Takla Landing located 40 km to the
west on the eastern shore of Takla Lake.

    Geology

The Lustdust claims are underlain by weakly metamorphosed limestones,
siltstones and mafic tuffs of the Carboniferous to Jurassic Cache Creek Group
that have been folded and intruded by Eocene aged Glover Stock in related
dykes and sills. The Cache Creek terrain is known to host a number of mineral
deposits.
The Canyon Creek Skarn (CCS) located proximal to the glover stock and
sills, is +1,000 m long, up to 60 m true thickness, and has a known down-dip
extent of 600 m. In general, the portions deeper than 400 m tend to be more
continuous and have higher grades. The Skarn Extension lying adjacent to the
CCS to the north has yet to be defined and remains open along strike and down
dip.
Alpha Gold President and CEO George Whatley explained, "Alpha Gold has
completed over 300 diamond drill holes totaling more than 65,000 metres on
Lustdust, the majority of which has been on the Canyon Creek Skarn. The high
grade gold-copper mineralization which is close to surface and pervasive over
favourable mining widths in the Skarn is the largest asset Alpha has uncovered
so far at Lustdust."
In the table that follows, there is a summary of the notable
intersections from all the diamond drill holes on the CCS since 2000 through
2006. (2007's drilling programs targeted new zones.) These intersections
average 6.1 metres of 5.12 g/t Au, 67.5 g/t Ag, 1.85% Cu or gold equivalent of
11.04 g/t; the weighted average is 3.40 g/t Au, 46.8 g/t Ag, 1.78% Cu or gold
equivalent of 8.79 g/t over 6.1 metres.

As was previously announced late in 2007, the Company has engaged for a
NI 43-101 compliant technical report and resource estimate of the property
which is expected to be completed early in 2008. The NI 43-101 Technical
Report will summarize the mineral resource at varying cut-off grades for four
of the ten known mineralized zones at Lustdust. The calculation will be based
on the current database containing 276 diamond drill-holes totaling 55,698
metres which comprises all the drilling on the four zones up to the end of
October 2007. The Company's Consulting Geologist, Mr. Daryl J. Hanson, P.Eng.,
is the Company's "Qualified Person" under NI 43-101 and will be preparing the
Technical Report.
Qualified Person, Daryl J. Hanson, P.Eng., is responsible for the
technical aspects of this release.
