Alexander (Sandy) Taylor named President, Power Group, SNC-Lavalin

MONTREAL, Feb. 6, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - SNC-Lavalin Group (TSX: SNC) announces today the appointment of Alexander (Sandy) Taylor to the role of President, Power Group. Based in Montreal and reporting to the President and CEO, Mr. Taylor will be responsible for growing the Company's Power Group, which includes Nuclear, Hydro, Transmission & Distribution and Thermal divisions. This appointment will be effective March 1, 2014.

Mr. Taylor joins SNC-Lavalin after 29 years with ABB, where he held a number of senior roles, including Senior Group Vice-President of the Global Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals business unit, and President and CEO of ABB Canada. He brings with him vast experience in numerous engineering sectors, with an excellent track record in a range of power generation and transmission and distribution projects. Mr. Taylor also has significant experience in providing services to industrial and utility clients in Canada and around the world.

Mr. Taylor began his career at Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. in 1979, where he contributed to the successful start-up and operation of various CANDU sites. He joined ABB in 1985 and held positions of increasing responsibility, including his role in expanding the company's activities across Europe while he was stationed in London.

Mr. Taylor holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from Queen's University, and a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Wajax Corporation.

With this appointment, SNC-Lavalin completes the leadership transformation to materialize its growth strategy around three key pillars: Power, under the leadership of Sandy Taylor; Resources, Environment & Water (REW), under the leadership of Neil Bruce; and Infrastructure, under the leadership of Hisham Mahmoud.
