Alain Prost's return to Montreal, teams up with SPORTALITY and the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation

    TORONTO, March 10 /CNW/ - SPORTALITY will host four-time, F1 World
Champion, Alain Prost, during the Grand Prix du Canada, Sunday June 8, 2008 at
Montréal's Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.
"To have a champion like Alain Prost in our five-star trackside suite
adds tremendously to an already once-in-a-lifetime F1 experience," says Robert
Ewaniuk, President of SPORTALITY, a leading North American corporate
hospitality agency. Prost is set to act as guest host and analyst, providing
first-hand insight for SPORTALITY guests. In addition, Prost will take part in
a question-and-answer period, pose for photos and sign autographs.
Prior to Prost's appearance in the Suite - a promotion being finalized -
has lucky fans winning a VIP breakfast with the four-time World Champion early
race day morning. Hosted at the prestigious Le Place D'Armes Hotel & Suites
and in conjunction with The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation, contest
winners have the opportunity to sit and speak intimately with Prost. "The
Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation is delighted to partner with
SPORTALITY and Mr. Alain Prost in this unique event to help sick children and
their families," says Valerie Frost, Director of Special Events & Community
Groups. Frost adds, "We are grateful for their generosity and look forward to
a great success." Learn the history and tradition of F1, Prost's winning
career and his ultimate strategy behind the wheel. With no purchase necessary
- fans are welcome to visit SPORTALITY.com for upcoming details on the
inaugural SPORTALITY Champion's Breakfast.
Other advancements new for 2008 include the SPORTALITY Shuttle Service.
"Feedback tells us that the greatest challenge in attending the race are the
logistics behind getting on and off the island," explains Patrick Gallo, Vice
President of SPORTALITY, "with limited parking only adding to this
frustration." With secured, easily-accessible valet parking at the Delta
Centre-Ville, VIP shuttles run daily for the entire race weekend directly from
the Shuttle Hub to the Casino De Montreal. Please contact SPORTALITY for
complete service details.
Located trackside, the exclusive SPORTALITY Podium Suite, just metres
beyond the start/finish line, offers an unprecedented view of the pit exit,
the podium and the famous Senna corner. With multiple live closed-circuit
televisions stationed throughout, guests can follow the race from reserved
seating. The program offers VIP boat shuttle service from Casino de Montreal
to the SPORTALITY Podium Suite, complete with gourmet catering and open bar
service.
A full-service agency, SPORTALITY specializes in the building and
execution of custom client hospitality programs, as well as distributor and
wholesaler incentive programs. Established in 1998, SPORTALITY works in
partnership with both small and large companies to develop targeted campaigns
to achieve results such as market penetration and brand awareness. An
important element within the sales and marketing mix, corporate sports
hospitality, can help build upon key business relationships and secure higher
return on investments.
Alain Prost began his Formula One career at age 24. Driving for teams
McLaren, Renault, Ferrari and Williams, Prost competed in 202 races, of these,
he started 33 from Pole Position and 106 being podium finishes. Prost held the
record for most Grand Prix wins - 51 - for over a decade. Today, only Michael
Schumacher has exceeded this victory count. Prost is one of nine Formula One
racers to have won two World Champion titles back-to-back.
Prost's deep intellectual approach and mental discipline towards the
competition earned him the nickname 'The Professor'. Known for his rivalry
with Ayrton Senna, perhaps the most bitter feud in Formula One history, Prost
chose to retire after his 1993 World Championship rather than partner with
Senna. In his announcement of retirement Prost said, "The sport has given me a
lot but I decided the game wasn't worth it any more." Before purchasing the
Ligier team in 1997 Prost acted as a TV commentator, advisor and test driver
for the McLaren team.
