TORONTO, April 28 /CNW/ - VenGrowth Asset Management Inc. (VenGrowth)
announces that an audience of over 3,000, including leaders from the local
business and investment community, will hear directly from former US Vice
President Al Gore at an exclusive event in Toronto this evening.
VenGrowth, in association with affiliate Criterion Investments
(Criterion), presents An Evening with Al Gore at Toronto's Hummingbird Centre
for the Performing Arts at 5pm today. Mr. Gore will address the impact of -
and solutions for - global warming.
"Business leaders, entrepreneurs and investors are seeking to better
understand environmental issues and how best to adapt," added Ian McPherson,
President of Criterion. "From our perspective, the investment opportunities
created by greater environmental awareness are of particular interest.
Education on the issues and tabling of potential solutions are the first
steps, and Al Gore is playing a leading role in that respect."
"Recent polls show that the environment is the number one issue for
Canadians," said David Ferguson, VenGrowth Managing General Partner. "Al Gore
has become the planet's unofficial spokesperson on climate change and we're
delighted to bring him to Toronto to share an important global message."
An Inconvenient Truth, the film that documents Al Gore's crusade to halt
global warming's progress, won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Documentary
Note that this event is by invitation only - no tickets will be available
