TORONTO, Oct. 10 /CNW/ - Toby Lennox, Vice President, Corporate Affairs
for the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) will be making a
presentation to the City of Toronto Economic Development Committee on
October 11, 2007.
Mr. Lennox will provide the Committee with updated information about
Toronto Pearson and the opportunities and benefits that now are available to
the City as a result of the GTAA's investment in aviation infrastructure.
Toronto Pearson is the busiest airport in Canada, creates 185,000 jobs, has
more than 75 airlines, 153 direct destinations and handles one third of
Canada's total air traffic. In early 2007, the GTAA completed its 10-year
Airport Development Program.
The GTAA will reinforce the importance of working with the City to ensure
that Toronto residents are properly and fairly served by the airport. Issues
to be highlighted include federal government air policies relating to new and
existing routes from international cities, public transit access to the
airport and economic development opportunities.
Mr. Lennox's presentation is scheduled during the 10:00 a.m. committee
meeting on October 11 at Toronto City Hall.
