TORONTO, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - Agtech Income Fund (TSX-V: AGT.UN) (the "Fund")
is pleased to announce that, effective at the opening of trading on Friday,
December 7, 2007, it changed its name to "Alliance Grain Traders Income Fund".
The units of the Fund commenced trading under the new name at the same time.
There was no consolidation or subdivision of capital. A letter of transmittal
will not be sent to unitholders. Unitholders who wish to exchange certificates
representing their units of the Fund for certificates bearing the new name of
the Fund may do so at the offices of the Fund's transfer agent, Equity
Transfer and Trust Company. New certificates bearing the new name of the Fund
will be issued for all transfers of units from December 7, 2007.
"With the significant growth of our operations with the Saskcan Pulse
acquisition, the US expansion and the Australian acquisition, we decided that
we needed to rebrand the Fund to reflect the changes in our operation. It is
symbolic that we use the name Alliance as we view the bringing together of all
of these operating companies as a strong force in our industry," explained
Murad Al-Katib, President and CEO of the Fund's new operating company Alliance
Pulse Processors Inc.
"We will continue to brand the operating divisions as Saskcan Pulse and
Agtech Processors so our farmers and clients worldwide continue deal with
familiar names that they trust. Alliance Grain Traders is the name we will
build for the investment community. With our view of continued growth and
consolidation of our industry, we feel that the name Alliance Grain Traders is
fitting. We will be a part of driving the changes that we see coming," said
Steve Bodnoff, the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fund.
