After extensive renovations in recent months, SITQ unveils the new Place Ville Marie retail gallery

MONTREAL, April 12 /CNW Telbec/ - SITQ today celebrated the grand
reopening of the redeveloped retail gallery at Place Ville Marie, following
several months of renovation work. The space that was vacated after the
departure of Mvvenpick in January 2005 has been completely revamped to
accommodate several new tenants. These newest additions to the Place Ville
Marie lineup enjoy a fully reconceptualized space as well as access to an
additional entrance at the corner of Cathcart and University streets.
"Our teams have worked very hard to revitalize the 30,000-square-foot
space left vacant after the departure of the Mvvenpick restaurant," said
Daniel Archambault, Vice President, Québec, of SITQ. "This redevelopment is a
real breath of fresh air that will be very beneficial for the occupants of the
five buildings of the Place Ville Marie complex, as well as visitors and
retailers."

Among the new arrivals at Place Ville Marie is Renaud Bray, which opened
an 8,500-square-foot, exterior-facing bookstore in the northeast part of the
centre in the fall. "For Renaud Bray, this new location represents an
excellent business opportunity. With the five prestigious office buildings on
site, the potential in terms of customer traffic is very interesting,"
explained Pierre Renaud, President Renaud-Bray.
Also in the northeast section, Reitmans has moved to a new and more
spacious store. In addition, early December marked the much-anticipated
opening of the largest RW & CO in the Americas. This latest offering from the
popular unisex fashion retailer features a unique shopping concept, complete
with CD listening stations and a lounge area. A Starbucks has also opened in a
location that offers an indoor patio year round, as well as an outdoor patio
on Cathcart Street during the warmer summer months. Moreover, a transaction
has been concluded for the neighbouring unit, which will be home to Laitue &
GO as of mid-March. Laitue & GO will be serving up customized main-course
salads along with a vast array of imported teas.
As the finishing touch on the renovated northeast wing of the centre, a
corridor leading to a new entrance at the corner of University and Cathcart
streets was created. A lounge area was also incorporated into the layout to
offer customers a warm, inviting place to sit back and relax.
In the west part of the retail gallery, Pharmaprix underwent a vast
10,000-square-foot expansion in November. It now offers an ever broader
selection of cosmetics - including the celebrated Clinique and Guerlain lines
- and health and skin care products. Pharmaprix also hosts a series of regular
talks and workshops on topics related to beauty and well-being. An RBC
Assurances branch office is among the newest service outlets available, and
Manteaux Manteaux, in a new location, will be expanded this spring. In
addition, the Place Ville Marie lineup will soon welcome Smart Set, a retailer
specializing in business apparel for young female professionals, and Cassis
(opened February 27), which is designed to showcase the beauty of the mature
woman.
