TORONTO, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - African Aura Resources Ltd. ("African Aura" or
the "Company", TSX-V: AAZ), a gold exploration company focused on sub-Saharan
Africa, announces that it has received assays indicating high gold grades from
its current, first phase diamond drilling programme at the Kambele gold
prospect on the Company's 100% owned 1,000km(2) Batouri licence in eastern
Cameroon.

    - Assay results of up to 132g/t Au over 1.0m and 49g/t over 1.5m
    - Results demonstrate large stockwork style gold system at Kambele
    - 21 holes completed for a total of 2,744m (approximately 15% of
        prospect)
    - Drilling commenced on Dimako prospect

The Company's two diamond coring rigs are drilling an initial 50 hole
programme on the 3.5km long Kambele trend, which in places is up to 500m wide
as defined by a (greater than)250ppb gold-in-soil contour that coincides with
hard rock artisanal workings. Drilling to date has comprised three
discontinuous fences to maximum depths of 157m across approximately 15% of the
trend.
Intersections from assay data received to date are shown in Table 1.

As of 5th September 2008 one drill rig is on hole KBDD026 on the Kambele
trend, while a second rig has been mobilised to the north-south striking,
3.5km long Mongonam - Dimako prospect which lies approximately 7km southwest
of Kambele. The prospect is defined by a 600m long, greater than 50ppb gold in
soil contour that concides with discontinuous hard rock artisanal workings.
The artisanal workings at Dimako are up to 20m wide by 20m deep and exploit a
granite hosted composite quartz vein. A grab sample taken from the workings
returned 32g/t gold. The strike of the Mongonam-Dimako trend is interpreted
from the surface soil geochemistry and a ground geophysical survey performed
by the Company. The second rig is reported to have intersected a 2.5m long
interval of quartz vein material at Dimako with multiple gold flecks in the
core in hole DMDD001, and is presently drilling hole DMDD003.

John Gray, Chief Executive Officer, commented:

"We are very encouraged by the high grades and the breadth of
distribution of the gold bearing structures intersected to date from the first
21 holes of the current drilling programme at Kambele. The results indicate a
strong correlation between the surface geochemical anomaly, which measures
approximately 3.5km long and up to 500m wide, and the presence of high grade
gold bearing quartz veins. We are further encouraged by the field reports of
multiple flecks of visible gold in the core from the recently commenced
drilling programme at the Mongonam-Dimako prospect. The Company is planning up
to another 100 holes in the current programme and is presently sourcing
further drilling capacity in order to accelerate progress."

    Oversight

The exploration results and further planned work in Cameroon have been
reviewed and approved by Mark Biddulph. He holds a BSc Hons in Geology, and
GIS from Rhodes University, and a GDE in Mining Engineering (Mineral
Economics) from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. Mark is a
Professional Natural Scientist under the South African Council for Natural
Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and a Qualified Person under National

    Quality Control and Sample Preparation

African Aura has a rigorous Quality Control Program (QCP) inserting a
minimum 5% standards, blanks and duplicates into the sample stream. The
Company employs independently owned and managed OMAC Laboratories for all its
assay requirements, including the preparation of pulps to 90% -100micron at
their in-country preparation facilities in Cameroon and Liberia, followed by
50gram fire assay (with lower detection limit of 2ppb Au) at their main
laboratory in Loughrea, Ireland. OMAC is accredited to ISO 17025 by INAB
(Irish National Accreditation Board) which is a member of ILAC (International
Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation), and is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual
Recognition Arrangement. OMAC operates an internal QA/QC check assay programme
using in-house standards, reagent blanks and duplicates.

    About African Aura

African Aura (TSX-V: AAZ) has a 'first-mover' exploration strategy,
focused on the discovery of economic gold, iron and uranium deposits in
sub-Saharan Africa. The Company commenced exploration in 2004 and has
established a portfolio of exploration licences totalling approximately
7,800km(2), targeting areas of active artisanal gold mining within Archaean
greenstone and Proterozoic volcano-sedimentary belts. The portfolio includes
the Batouri gold project in eastern Cameroon, the Fula Camp gold project in
western Liberia, and a pipeline of significant prospects for drill testing as
well as numerous other gold, uranium and iron ore targets that require follow
up exploration. For more information on African Aura we invite you to visit
