AFN National Chief Demands Clarification

OTTAWA, Nov. 15 /CNW Telbec/ - National Chief Phil Fontaine is looking
for the government to clarify whether there was a transfer of funds from the
Residential Schools Settlement Trust as reported by Elizabeth Thompson in the
Gazette today.
"The confusion surrounding this issue needs to be resolved," the National
Chief stressed. "It is essential that the Government explain what has
happened. I can not stress how important it is that any and all funds
earmarked for the Residential Schools Settlement Trust be used for the
compensation of survivors and for the other programs and activities dedicated
to the Residential Schools issue."
