Claude Fugère to lead AFI's labour dispute and security services
operations in Quebec and Atlantic Canada
TORONTO, Nov. 13 /CNW/ - AFI International Group Inc., a leading North
American security and investigative services company has appointed Claude
Fugère as regional vice president of business development for Quebec and
Atlantic Canada. He officially assumed the position November 5, 2007, based
out of AFI's Montreal office.
As regional vice president, business development in Quebec and the
Atlantic Provinces, M. Fugère will work closely with employers across the
region to manage work stoppages due to labour conflicts and security breaches.
"Quebec is the second largest market in Canada for strikes and labour
disputes and has also been the only province in which AFI has not had a
complete offering - until now." says Peter Martin, AFI's chief operating
officer. "With the appointment of Claude Fugère as our new regional vice
president, we are sealing our commitment to servicing Quebec and French
M. Fugère brings 11 years of sales/marketing, business development and
human resources management experience in national organizations. Prior to
joining AFI, he worked at FGI, an employee assistance program provider in
Quebec, helping facilitate post-trauma interventions and the reintegration of
workplaces following a strike situation.
Last April, AFI International opened its doors in downtown Montreal and
had ten senior coordinators trained and licensed to operate in Quebec. The
announcement of a new vice president to lead these efforts in the French
market is just one more bold step in AFI's recent expansion move. Earlier this
fall, the company took a solid foothold in the U.S. market with its majority
shares acquisition of US-based International Management Assistance Corporation
(IMAC) - a leader in the security sector.
"A lot of our Fortune 500 clients were asking whether we were going to
operate in Quebec as they would prefer to deal with a single source supplier
across the nation," says Jim Rovers, AFI's vice president of national sales
and marketing. "Now with Claude in place and our strong local presence there,
we'll really be able to meet this growing demand."
AFI International Group provides elite security, risk management,
business continuity and investigative services to protect people and property
both during labour disruption and regular business operations. AFI also offers
